"Unforgettable characters!!"
Annette needs to find out what happened to her sister
before she can lead a normal life. When she finds an amulet
at an ancient druid circle, she gains the ability to summon
Aragon. Aragon is half man, half wolf. Before he quit, he
was the leader of his unit of shadow men to protect
humanity. Aragon does not take too kindly to a mortal woman
interrupting his quest for vengeance against one of the
fallen. His need to protect her rivals the need to strike
down the one who he feels is responsible for so much pain
and suffering. Aragon gives new definition to the term tortured hero. He
takes upon his shoulders all the guilt in the world and
asks for more. On more than one occasion he couldn't see
the truth in front of him, but by the end he realized that
he was not responsible for all life's woes. Annette has
spunk, though she doesn't always think before she acts,
she's not afraid to take risks. The balance the two create
was beautiful. As they fought against the passion they
shared, they learned how to better themselves for each
other. The second book in the Shadowmen series outshined the
first. Aragon captured my heart through his struggles. I
cheered for him, wanted to yell at him when he was wrong,
and to hold his hand when he accepted his mistakes for what
they were. The ability to pick up where the first book left
off and run with it is a rare talent and Jennifer St. Giles
nailed it. I found this book to be an exceptional read, I
didn't want to put it down. The Lure of the Wolf is
a special book because the characters have a way of warming
the readers' heart. Not only are they well rounded, but
also unforgettable.
