"A tale with more twists and turns than I can keep up with."

Skylar doesn't remember anything about herself, other than she is not Mariah. She has been kidnapped by Craze and he is slowly erasing memories of her and replacing them with those of Mariah. I will stop here and say that this is the second book in the Talisman Bay series and if you haven't yet read the first, Lover's Talisman, then you need to. Forsaken Talisman is okay as a stand-alone title, but you will not get the full effect of the story if you don't read the first one. This plot is so complex, with so many twists and turns, I am still dumbfounded. In the first book, there were so many hints and small puzzle pieces, I struggled to keep up and was sure that this second book would answer my questions. However, this book mostly just added to them. Yes, some of my questions were answered, but more questions were added.

The hero and heroine in this book are Dusty and Skylar. However, as in the first book, their romance was almost over shadowed by the other characters and the twisted plot. I am not complaining, because the plot and all of the characters are very good, but if you are looking for a book that focuses on a romance between two people, then this may not be the book, or even the series, for you. It seemed that Dusty's character could have been a bit better developed. Skylar is a bit better developed and is an enjoyable character. The secondary characters are just as strong in this book as they were in the first.

I almost want to say that these books are not for me. Not because they aren't good, but because they don't seem to follow the traditional lines that romance books do, if that makes sense. However, I am so intrigued and drawn into the plot and characters, I can't help myself. I anxiously await the third installment in this series. Hopefully I will get my answers there.

Is she a victim of a madman’s agenda, or a willing player in his demonic games?

Talisman Bay Series, Book 2

Kidnapped and mind-wiped by the Shadow Walkers’ greatest nemesis, Skylar has no memories of her own, except for her name. All she knows is what memories she does possess belong to someone else—as does her face—and that she can’t trust anyone, including herself.

Shadow Walker Dusty Clements goes against direct orders to rescue Skylar and take her into hiding. It’s the only way to get to the truth, and keep her out of the hands of an enemy who could use her to wipe out the entire organization. The last complication Dusty needs is to fall for her.

As Dusty and Skylar work to uncover the secrets of her past, they discover a mystery more than twenty years in the making, and a love they can’t deny.

The enemy has one more trick up his sleeve though—a magical kiss capable of probing the deepest secrets of the mind. All he needs to bring the Shadow Walkers down is to get his lips on Skylar one more time…
