"a match made in...."
Catriona Buchanan was stranded in the Scottish Highlands
with a dead car. Six months pregnant, she gamely decided
to walk home. Catriona kept talking to the unborn child to
keep herself calm. Then they hit her. Hooves and horns
trampling her as she lay on the ground. Thus, two months
later Hamish Buchanan was born to a mother who died at the
same time, as they took her off of the ventilator that was
keeping her alive until he could make his appearance. Thirty years later, Hamish and his cousin are eligible
bachelors, playing the field, having a great time. But
something is bothering him. Despite his successes, there
is something more but he's not sure what. His entire family
is trying to find him a wife he doesn't want. Then, while attending a charity function with his cousin,
he finds HER. Grace Strachan, milliner. The woman he is
intended to have for the rest of his life, if only he can
get past the insult that came bouncing out of his mouth
when he tried to speak with her. If only she can get past
a few issues he has going on. Did I mention he and his
mother were trampled by sheep???? Definitely a good short novel. The characters were
humorous and played against each other very well. I am
looking forward to reading more by this author.
