"Engaging quick read!"
Up in Heaven, Shae is getting restless. He's been a
guardian angel for a long time with no one to guard. The
lure of earth is getting stronger and stronger and ever
harder to resist. One day, while he's looking down at
earth, Michael comes to Shae and tells him not to go down.
After all, Shae is one of Michael's best friends and he
doesn't want to be forced to hunt Shae. After Michael walks
away, Shae realizes there is nothing holding him in Heaven
and so he drops down to earth. As soon as he lands, he
realizes the Gates of Heaven are now closed to him and his
beautiful white wings are no more. Instead, they're black
and leathery. Shae is now one of the Fallen Fae. Then we
jump ahead to the current day. Shae has been on earth for a
long, long time now. He's just biding his time until the
human girl will be ready for him. After all, he's counting
on her to be his salvation. Aleta doesn't know quite what to do now. Her grandfather is
in a hospice and has asked her to stay at his house while
he's there. After all, her grandfather is her last living
relative. Her mother, father, and older sister were all
killed in a car accident and it's been just Aleta and her
grandfather for a long time and now he's dying. The house
is filled with memories—memories of Aleta and her
grandfather and all the stories he told her of the Fae. Of
course, they were just stories, weren't they? What will happen when Shae and Aleta meet? Will Aleta prove
to be Shae's salvation? Will Shae be restored to Heaven?
Will Lucifer allow Shae to leave? THE FALLEN FAE is an engaging short story of angels and
those who have fallen. Connie Wood weaves an intriguing
tale as Shae must learn what is really important to him.
And Aleta must learn to cope as the last of her line. All
in all, this is a very good read when you're in the mood
for something quick, and I recommend it.
