"Non-stop action from beginning to end!"
Deciding to get some on-the-job training from her
predecessor, Cassie Palmer goes back in time to find the
Pythia who gave her the position. Even though the Council
will not acknowledge Cassie as the Pythia, she intends to
fill the position. Of course, it's not that easy when Agnes
tries to kill Cassie. After fighting black mages and
dealing with a basement full of dynamite, Agnes finally
tells Cassie to follow her instincts and there is no real
training for the position of Pythia. Just do what she can
to the best of her ability. And then shifts. With that
experience not helpful at all and a bit the worse for wear,
Cassie shifts back to her penthouse suite at Dante's—a
vampire Las Vegas casino—where she's met by her vampire
bodyguard Marco, who is not in the least pleased with her.
When Mircea shows up—Marco's Master and Cassie's vampire
lover—he's really not pleased and let's Cassie know it.
The next morning, Mircea has to go settle a dispute within
his family and decides to take Cassie with him to ensure
she won't get into any more trouble. Impressed with
Mircea's private jet, Cassie relaxes until they get to
their destination. In order to make sure Cassie remains in
the jet while Mircea takes care of his business, he
handcuffs her to the couch before he leaves. Never one to
do what anyone tells her to, Cassie decides to go back to
Dante's. So she shifts, couch and all, where she's met by
Marco and his partner. After a bit of a scuffle, Cassie
finally gets to Pritkin. Turns out Pritkin was finally able
to set up a meeting with the Council and Cassie has to
Will Cassie ever be accepted as the Pythia by the Council?

CURSE THE DAWN, CASSANDRA PALMER BOOK 4 is a non-stop,
action-filled story from beginning to end. Karen Chance
tells an excellent tale full of all kinds of battles
between mages and vampires and demons. I could barely take
a breath from one action scene to the next and wondered how
Cassie could. And I just loved Dee Sire, who helped Cassie
out more than once. At the bottom of all the fighting and
battles, we have Cassie—a woman who just wants to do what's
right. At least she's surrounded by a very loyal group of
friends, well, for the most part. This is a fantastic
series of books and you don't want to miss any of the
action. Very highly recommended!

A Cassie Palmer Novel
**A PNR STAFF RECOMMENDED READ**
Cassandra Palmer may be the all-powerful Pythia now, but that doesn’t mean people have stopped trying to kill her. Most of the supernatural power players don’t want the independent minded Cassie as chief clairvoyant—and they’ll stop at nothing to see her six feet under.
The Vampire Senate does support Cassie in her position, but their protection comes with a price: an alliance with the sexy master vampire Mircea, who has claimed Cassie as his own.
But even the vampires will have trouble keeping Cassie alive now that the self-styled god Apollo, the source of the Pythia’s power, has it in for her in a big way. To save her life—and the world—Cassie’s going to have to face down her creator once and for all.
