Elena Deveraux is a born hunter and the best the Guild
Hunters has to offer. She's stronger than your average
human and her scenting skills in tracking vampires are
unparalleled. Abandoned by her father after discovering
his daughter is an abomination in her father's eyes,
Elena is kicked out of her family's home but finds a new
home, life, and family within the Guild Hunters. When
Guild Director notifies her that her presence has been
requested by the Archangel Raphael, Elena is shocked
because the Archangels aren't exactly known for slumming
with mere humans. But when an Archangel summons you, you
do not say no. The Archangel Raphael is one of the most lethal and
dangerous beings on earth. He's one of the Cadre of Ten --
a group of archangels who have divvied up the earth into
ten territories in order to keep angels and vampires in
line. Raphael rules his territory based out of Manhattan's
Archangel Tower. When trouble within his territory starts
brewing, Raphael calls in Elena because he realizes he'll
need the best hunter the Guild has to offer and what is
sure to be the deadliest hunt yet. Both intrigued and
mystified by Elena, Raphael can't help but be pulled toward
her. But as the hunt becomes more intense and more
gruesome, Raphael and Elena must put their budding
attraction on hold in order to save not only themselves,
but also all of mankind. This is the first book of Nalini Singh's I've had the
pleasure of reading and all I can say is, "Wow!" Just...WOW!
This book is a high octane, action packed, roller coaster
ride that never stops until the last page is turned. I
found myself completely enthralled with Elena and Raphael's
story from page one and literally finished the book in 24
hours. With engaging characters and sexual tension
between the characters that is off the charts, Angels'
Blood is completely original with a rock solid
storyline, and strong, but more importantly, likable
characters. I have no doubt that this book will more than
satisfy even the most fastidious fans of paranormal
romance. I will definitely be digging through my to-be-read
pile for books from Ms. Singh's other series
(Psy/Changeling) to see what I've been missing and to fill
my time until the release of book 2 of the Guild Hunter
series. It was a no-brainer for me to choose Angels'
Blood as my Top Pick of the Month for March. Trust me --
you will not want to miss this one!
