"Sexy vampire suspense"
Rosa is a talented singer in a vampire bar. Usually leaving
the bar patrons feeling happy and wanting to party more.
Lately she can't get it together, on stage or off. Her best
friend is attacked, shot and turned into a vampire. She
can't get the images of that night out of her head,
including the Watcher Warrior, Vane, holding her and
keeping her from falling apart. Vane is one of the Vampire Watchers, defenders of
civilian vampire and innocent humans alike. Vane always has
a woman or fight going on, but since meeting Rosa, he can't
get her out of his mind. Vane thinks Rosa is the most beautiful vampire he has ever
seen, and that she deserves a man who can treat her like a
queen and give her the house with a picket fence. Rosa
thinks her life is so unstable and she is too inadequate to
be with Vane. During a mandatory week off to clear her head, her life is
turned completely upside down. She is being stalked
unawares, and her jealously toward Vane's past exploits
lead her straight into the arms of the stalker. She is
abducted, drugged, and placed center stage for the final
scene in his attempt to take over the city, kill the
Watchers, and introduce a drug tailored to Vampires. I like the way the book switches back and forth between
Rosa and Vane's point of view. You get to see what is going
on in their heads and hearts. It also showcases Rosa and
Vane's struggle to accept what the other person needs and
not what they think the other person
wants. I am waiting on the next installments of the Watchers:
Midnight Revelations (Watchers Book 3) and Midnight Savior
(Watchers Book 4) for the other Watchers' Cell-mates
stories.
