"a race of good vs. evil"
Catherine Caldwell was in art restoration. She was in love
with Matthew who knew her like no one else had ever known
her. She was taking him home to meet her Granddad, for
heaven's sake! Her birthday approaching, she receives an
exquisite statue of the Archangel Michael to add to her
collection, a gift from the Grandfather in Louisiana. In a terrible accident which killed her grandmother and
mother, Catherine was the sole survivor. Saved by her
grandfather, Alan, she was whisked away to life in the
bayou of Louisiana. Grandpa was in 'way over his head' -
during WWII he was visited by Michael in an abandoned
church where he was entrusted with the keeping of the Spear
of Longius, the sword that pierced Christ's side at his
death. He had kept it hidden all these years in
preparation of explaining and giving it over to its next
keeper - Catherine. Sammael intervenes before Catherine
arrives and Alan is killed. Sammael was there at the Crucifixion. He was there many,
many times in the service of evil. He might be Michael's
brother, but they were complete opposites. He wants
Catherine badly and even more, wants the Spear. Join them in a race of good vs. evil; love ruined and
regained; and a wonderful book! I really enjoyed this
read. The characters were well done, the story kept my
attention better than most and it just was a delight to
review.
