Vampire guards had the night shift at San Quentin. Go figure. Even the thought of vampire guards made Tanith wet. She was obsessed with vampires. Wanted one, or was sure she thought she did. Being a cop didn't help, she got three or four offers daily, but passed on them all. Not what she wanted, not what she needed. She finds a card from an escort service: Fangly, My Dear. Date a shifter, ghoul or vampire. After a bit she decides to give them a call. After all, once done her obsession would probably go away - wouldn't it?

Gabe awakens after a prison attack in a vampire half-way house. He doesn't remember anything after the shooting but one of the vampire guards saved him by turning him. Ironically, Tanith's best friend's husband died that night. They were investigating police corruption. After becoming familiar with his new-found nature, Gabe is in need of sex. Lots and lots of it. He signs up with Fangly, My Dear and his first date is Tanith.

Tanith is determined to never see Gabe again. Then she learns he was present at Sue's husband's death. Was he the killer? Can she stand firm on her No More Vampires theme? And who is that nice looking old lady?

A good short novel, I truly enjoyed it.
