"excitement , intrigue and incredible alpha men"
Be advised, this is book 2 of a series that is ongoing. If
you have not read book 1, then I consider this review to
need a spoiler alert. As with most series books, what was
started in the first book is being continued in this book.
Nothing has been spoiled in the way of THIS book, however,
if you have not read Into the Mist, and I suggest you do,
you may not wish to read further until you read that book
first. Katie has been running so long she doesn't know how to
stop. Alone for years, she has developed into a strong
spitfire who doesn't know how to give up. However, she's
tired, scared and now worried about her brother. Gabe
hasn't called, that means something terrible has happened
and Katie knows she can't trust a soul. She's on the run,
if the men that she's running from find her, she's dead.
Little does Katie know, she has more than one group of men
hunting her. The men searching for her because of her
brother make the dangerous, sadistic men hunting for her
own issues look like cupcakes. Then, there's two other men
hunting her. They hunt Katie for their own reasons, but
they will also look after her. That is, if they can
convince Katie she's safe with them in order to keep her
from running. Katie just doesn't know how to trust. Not
even the incredibly strong and compelling men that have
caught her, and caught more than just her body, they've
caught her heart as well. Ian and Braden are going to teach
her how to trust, and they are going to teach her that
there is nowhere she can run that they will not find. Ian and Braden are on a mission. They have been betrayed so
many times it's becoming hard to count. Who to trust is
always an issue in their line of work as mercenaries, now
they must learn to trust Falcon. Because trust and teamwork
are the only way they will ever be able to find a way
handle their new found abilities to shift shape. Hopefully,
to even find a cure, but that cure lies in the mind of a
man that is hunting a woman. A woman who happens to be the
sister of a man they promised on his dying breath, they
would find and save; a promise made despite his betrayal of
his team. Regardless of betrayals, hardship, dangers and a
need to fight their way out of the country with a woman who
is determined not to trust them, they will not fail. Men
like Ian and Braden never fail, but the brothers soon set
their sights on more than just saving Katie, because it
becomes painfully obvious to the brothers that Katie is
theirs. They know it, their hearts know it and their inner
beasts' know it as well. Now, it's time to convince the
hellcat that her destiny is with them, and although she is
used to running from dangerous men, she will not run from
them. Despite just how dangerous they can be. Into the Lair is the second book in The Falcon
Mercenary Group Series. This series still holds all the
excitement and intrigue that I knew it would with the first
book. One of the things that I love about Maya Banks is the
depth of her characters. That is especially true in this
series. However, not only does she have incredible emotion,
and her trademark of wonderful men capable of great sex,
The Falcon Mercenary Group Series also has fantastic
action. This book had me from page one and kept my
attention right to the end. I am a great lover of series
books, and with most series, I feel you might be lost if
you don't read the first book, Into the Mist. I highly
recommend them both. This series has it all, action, hot
sex, incredible alpha men, a strong heroine and wonderful
paranormal elements that promise you a read you will not be
able to put down. If you adore shape shifters as much as I
do, you have to read this series. Ms. Banks just can't
write a bad book. Some books are better than others, as
with any author, but this book, and this series, is by far
one of her best.

**A PNR Reviewer Top Pick** It was supposed to be an easy mission. But nobody told her that. Ian and Braden Thomas return to the U.S. to extract Katie Buchanan, the sister of the teammate who betrayed them. She could very well be the key to taking down the man responsible for turning Ian and Braden into unstable cat shifters. Unfortunately, they’re not the only ones after Katie. Katie has no intention of going quietly or of offering her trust on a silver platter. She’s got troubles of her own that don’t include two pain-in-the-ass men who claim her dead brother sent them. She’s too busy trying to stay one step ahead of Ricardo de la Cruz, the brother of a man she killed. As the bodies pile up, Ian and Braden are only sure of one thing: Katie makes them crazy. Something about her calls to their inner predator. They both want her, but she’s made a practice of making bad decisions and trusting the wrong men. And by the time she realizes that she can trust these two warriors, it might just be too late. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Genre: Red Hots!, Paranormal Romance
Length: NovelNote:Falcon Mercenary Group Book 2, a sequel to Into the Mist Warning: Blood, gray matter, guts and gore. Ass kicking, potty mouths, acerbic wit. More mean people, mean people dying, mean people getting what they deserve. Sex…explicit sex, rough sex, ménage a trois, voyeurism, light bondage. Oh, and avalanches.
