"Three hot stories about cats!"
Purr For Me by Skylar Sinclair Panteara, a shape-shifter, goes to a wild Halloween
party, "dressed" in her feline form. When she meets
Roarke, an alpha lion who is looking for a mate, she cannot
resist him. They both know that they have found a mate in
each other, after years of sleeping with first one person,
then another. After a night of passion, they both know
that they will never be the same. Purr for Me was a fast and hot read. The characters got
down to business quickly and the heat between the two just
poured from the pages. I found Purr For Me to be not only
enjoyable, but also surprising. The ending is not at all
what I expected. Beast Magic by Sapphire Phelan Ramses, a werelion and pride leader, has had the Dreaming;
a dream that shows him who his human mate is. Now, he must
find a way to get to America and find his mate. He allows
some trappers to catch him and send him to a zoo in the
city where he knows his mate can be found. Shana has been having a dream about lions since she was
young. Now, the dream is haunting her more often and
becoming more vivid and scary. She goes to the zoo to face
her fears and prove to herself that there is nothing to
fear from the lions. When she reaches the lion exhibit,
she is astounded to find the lion from her dreams. Ramses escapes from the zoo and mates with Shana. It is
instant passion and love between the two and Shana must
decide to move back to Africa with her mate. Once there,
they must fight an adversary with many followers in the
pack. Ramses must protect his mate at all costs. Will he
be able to defend his mate from his enemies within his
pride? Beast Magic was a short and very erotic read. The heat
between the characters was intense and often. The story of
deceit and betrayal was interesting and the passion kept
the pages turning. Cat's Claw by Jude Mason Morgan was abandoned by her birth parents and then adopted,
but she never felt that she belonged. One day, she left
home and found Frank. Frank accepted and understood her
and gave her the comfort and love that she had longed for
from a father. When Frank unexpectedly asks her to be his
executor, she agrees. Shortly after, Frank falls ill and
dies quickly. After he is dead, Morgan learns that Frank
has a son and everything has been left to him. She has no
idea that Josh lives outside a tiny town, deep in the
woods, with no phone and a mile walk to his house. Josh has not seen his father since they argued and his
father left. When the lovely Morgan shows up at his door
and announces that his father has been dead a week, he is
devastated. Frank told both Josh and later, Morgan, that they would
each meet someone special soon. Neither has any idea that
the other is that someone special and they will understand
and love each other unlike anyone else would be able. Jude Mason did a fantastic job of putting so many emotions
into one short story. Josh and Morgan's story is touching,
as they have each been so alone and are finally complete
when they meet each other. This story contains not only
tender emotions, but a lot of heat and passion.
