"Very differenty type of shapeshifter story!"
Sinclair Duval does not have the easiest life. At one time,
she was on the fast track with her career as a pilot. She
had it all—condo, great job, money—but then her sister got
pregnant and the father of the baby left her. The fact Mina
is an alcoholic and drug addict pretty much ensured
Sinclair would give up her condo and all the long flights
to live with her sister and take care of Nahla, her niece.
Now her niece is a toddler, and Sinclair has decided to
spend the day at Jungle Kingdom. When they both reach the
top of the pyramid, the whole thing comes apart. Were-cheetah Rio Velasquez is the healer of his coalition,
he also works part-time as a medic at Jungle Kingdom. When
the problems start at Jungle Kingdom, his whole coalition
blames a rival group of were-cheetahs and Rio accompanies
Sinclair and Nahla to the hospital. Thankfully, Rio is
known at the hospital. He uses some of his rather
untraditional methods to heal Sinclair, but Nahla is beyond
help. He knows the only way to save her is to bite her and
make her one of his kind. In order to save his coalition
from a law suit and to keep Nahla alive, he does so, not
confessing what he's done to Sinclair. When he tells
Sinclair the doctors have only given Nahla twenty-four
hours to live, she agrees to try his methods of healing for
her niece. So she signs Nahla out of the hospital and they
head to Rio's home. Will Nahla survive the bite? What of Mina? Will she care
about her daughter and sister, or will she create even more
problems for them? And how much trouble will Rio get into
for going against the rules of his coalition? Not to
mention, biting Nahla without getting Sinclair's approval.
And what of the rival coalition? Will there be even more
problems for Rio's coalition? UNSTABLE ENVIRONMENT is a very different type of
shapeshifter story. Marcia Colette tells a very unique
story with a totally unexpected twist. Sinclair basically
gives up her chance for the "good life" so she can take
care of her niece and never regrets it. Rio hasn't had it
easy either when his fiancée was raped and the attack made
her go insane and later kill herself. There's a lot of
action in this story, of all types.
