"All questions answered and then some!"
When we left off with DARKWIND, Kamerone Cree had just been
abducted from a hospital cafeteria, along with Dorrie,
right in front of Bridget. In order to keep Bridget safe,
Kamerone gave himself up. Little did he know, it wasn't
just Amazeens on the ship bound to Rysalia Prime, there was
also someone from Kamerone's past along for the ride.
Someone who hates Cree with a passion. None other than
Kamerone's aunt—Dr. Hael Sejm. And yes, she does have all
kinds of torture planned for him during their voyage. Of
course, the Amazeen who captured Cree—Major Akkadia Kahmal—
has reason to hate Cree as well, after all, he killed her
sister rescuing Bridget from Konnor Rhye. When The Alluvia
runs into problems, they end up landing on Montyne Vex—the
same planet Caitlin's crew rescued Khiershon from. While
there, Kamerone manages to save Akkadia from a ghoret,
taking the bite himself. Then he escapes with Dorrie, and
they head to the frigid side of the planet. Well Akkadia
can't let Kamerone escape, regardless of how much Dr. Sejm
has tortured him and even though he saved her life, so she
follows, only after claiming Attribution—meaning she can't
allow anyone to take his life. She manages to find Kamerone
and Dorrie, along with a weretiger. When the crew of The
Alluvia discovers Kamerone has escaped, two women go after
him. Not surprisingly, Kamerone manages to save their lives
as well and they also claim Attribution. When they're all
together, Kamerone finds out he is being taken back to
Rysalia Prime for the Festival. The highlight of the
Festival is to be his death, along with the deaths of other
Reapers. Knowing Cree as we do by now, we know he won't
allow this to happen, so they decide to take The Alluvia
back to Rysalia Prime so Kamerone can save his bloodkin and
himself, even though the only thing he wants is to go home
to Bridget. Meanwhile, Khiershon and Caitlin are busy as well.
Khiershon has managed to put together a group of warriors,
along with the Amazeen Princess who helped him escape, and
they are planning on saving the other Reapers from the
Amazeens. Not surprisingly, there is a bit of a fight
between the Amazeen Princess—who thinks Khiershon will Join
with her—and Caitlin, which Caitlin wins. Eventually,
Khiershon will have to deal with Princess Raphaella,
whether he wants to or not. When they get the ship
retrofitted, they take off for Rysalia Prime, followed by
Raphaella unbeknown to them. So what will happen when Kamerone gets to Rysalia Prime?
What will he discover when he gets there? Will he be able
to save his bloodkin? Will Khiershon's crew interfere with
what Kamerone has planned? And don't forget Raphaella. What
will she do? And will the group that went to Terra just let
Kamerone be captured, or will they go after him as well? DEMONWIND TRILOGY BOOK 3: EVILWIND is a fantastic finish to
this trilogy. Charlotte Boyett-Compo pulled out all the
stops with this one. Kamerone Cree is once again forced to
go through things no one should be, including being burned
over and over again. With everything he goes through,
Kamerone is finally able to accept his humanity and saves
the lives of the person responsible for it all. Even though
the only thing he wants more anything else is to be
reunited with his Bridget, Kamerone still thinks of his
bloodkin and determines to rescue them. We also get to meet
a whole lot of new Reapers and find them pairing with their
mates. And the bonus—we're introduced to someone we met
previously and his mate and other companions. This is one
series you really don't want to miss and I highly recommend
it.
