"fast paced, exciting, hot and intoxicating"
Aliyah is a shapeshifter, a Cheetah to be exact, and when
poachers trap her, she is held for months until the day she
is set loose in the mountains. However, it is only to be
hunted down by men who pay to hunt exotic game. Swift and
fast Aliyah managed to elude her captures and her hunters
until one manages to put an arrow in her. Hurt and trapped
Aliyah fears she is about to die, that is until a warrior
saves her and changes her life forever. Duncan is a sheriff responding to a call about possible
poachers, something he simply won't tolerate in his
territory. He never expects to find an exotic cheetah with
an arrow in her side and upon rescuing her from poachers he
also doesn't expect said cheetah to turn into an even more
exotic woman. A woman that needs his protection, and he
will protect her, however he must. Even if that means he
must rid the danger she faces and take down poachers bent
on hunting exotic game. Can he keep her safe from harm? Can
he keep her at all? Is letting her go even an option once
he realizes how deeply he needs not only her safety but her
as well? Duncan has to find a way to save her and keep her
at the same time. I absolutely love Maya Banks! Maya is simply one of those
authors that will never disappoint her readers. Her
shapeshifters always hold a special place in my heart, and
Golden Eyes is by no means an exception to this rule. It's
fast paced, exciting, hot and intoxicating. Maya Banks
writes delicious alpha males that are wonderfully
protective and seductive. I started it and simply could not
put it down until I was done.

Taken by poachers who import exotic animals to illegally hunt, she stayed in animal form to avoid detection.
