"Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they aren't there"
Officer Sinead O'Rourke sees dead people...and demons too.
After surviving the violent attack that claimed the life of
her partner, Sin's new "ability" is unsettling and she's
afraid she might be losing her mind. Now that Sin is back
on the job, her otherworldly sightings are occurring more
frequently and the timing couldn't be worse. Teamed up
with her former partner and lover, she is well aware of the
rumors circulating about her mental breakdown. Determined
to prove she can still do the job, Sin sets out to convince
everyone that she's ready to patrol the streets
if it means lying about seeing Danny's ghost.
Jake Chapa would like nothing more than for Sin to quit the
police force. The woman drives him to distraction and just
thinking about the night she'd been shot was almost too
much to bear. Jake senses she is hiding something and now
that she's his partner again, he plans to keep a close
watch over her. Working with Sin this time around is just
as challenging as before, but the nights in her bed are
hotter than ever. And Jake will do whatever it takes to
keep her safe.
Delilah Devlin is her signature self with this novella.
Hot love scenes and strong characters pull the reader into
the story immediately. Paranormal elements are neatly
woven into the story and well-timed comedic quips bring the
characters to life. This novella seems to set the stage
for other stories to follow as more is revealed about the
body snatching demons on earth. Readers will be left
begging for more and will no doubt want to read more about
Sin and Jake's on and off-duty escapades.
