"Full of plots, and subplots and action galore!"
Our story begins on a Medivac Ship, The Orion, out in
space. For some reason, the chief medical officer, Caitlin
Kelly, hasn't been sleeping well. So when they receive a
distress call, Caitlin has no choice but to respond, even
though the captain tries to ignore it. They actually end up
going on an away mission to find the one survivor on the
forbidding planet. They follow the signal to a cave and are
in shock when they find some huge women all dead and one
man chained to a wall in a cavern, severely beaten. Well,
Caitlin does what she can for the man and for some odd
reason, she can finally sleep. Of course, the rest of the
women on the ship are not sleeping well. They are all
having dreams of the incredibly handsome man they found,
and more than that, they all find some excuse to touch him.
This really irritates Caitlin and she decides to handle his
care by herself. With her patient still unconscious,
Caitlin has to temporarily take over as captain when
another ship uncloaks and demands his return. Turns out,
the other ship is manned by her patient's crew and he is
none other than Khiershon Cree, bloodson of Kamerone Cree,
Prime Reaper. After the revolution on Rysalia Prime,
whatever Reapers were still alive were forced to go
underground and are being hunted by the Amazeens. Not
surprisingly, a relationship develops between Caitlin and
Khiershon. Meanwhile on Earth, Kamerone Cree and Bridget have a son.
While all the rest of the people who managed to escape
Rysalia Prime have integrated into life on Earth, Kamerone
has not. He is the only one who cannot get a job because he
is a Reaper and they can't risk him transitioning in front
of anyone. So not only is Kamerone bored, but he can't
reconcile himself to the fact Bridget is taking care of him
instead of vice versa. And if that isn't bad enough, he's
terrified to touch his son. Terrified he'll hurt the babe,
the reason Reapers weren't allowed to even see their
children on Rysalia Prime. So not only is Kamerone dealing
with all of these issues, but he's noticed a woman
following him lately. A very tall woman. Will there be a chance for Khiershon and Caitlin? Will
anything come of their relationship? Will Khiershon heal
completely? And then we have Kamerone. Will the problems
developing between him and Bridget escalate? Will he ever
be happy on Earth? And who is the mysterious woman who's
following him everywhere? WIND DEMON TRILOGY BOOK 2: DARKWIND is a story of
surprises.
Charlotte Boyett-Compo throws all kinds of curves in this
second story of the trilogy. Once again, I was caught up in
the story from the very first page until the last one. This
is one of those stories you just don't want to put down
because the action is nonstop. We have Kamerone trying to
reconcile himself to his current life, while the love of
his life can't understand why he won't bond with their son.
We also get to meet one of Kamerone's sons, Khiershon, and
the love of his life, Caitlin, a woman who doesn't take
anything from anyone and will fight for what she believes
in. While this story does leave a lot of unanswered
questions, I'm confident they will all be neatly tied up in
the final book in this trilogy and can't wait to read it.
As with all of Charlotte Boyett-Compo's stories, I highly
recommend the DEMONWIND TRILOGY.

Having crushed the Rysalian Empire, only one task remains as far as the Amazeen are concerned-to track down Kamerone Cree and execute him with the last remaining Reapers, five of whom are his bloodsons. The crew of The Orion are drawn unknowingly into the war for supremacy when Khiershon Cree, in a last ditch effort to survive, telepathically summons the woman destined to be his mate. Dr. Caitlyn Kelly has no idea why this, dark, dangerous and strangely beautiful alien man has such a powerful appeal for her, but she can no more resist than she could simply cease to breathe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
