"Fantastic story of manipulation and political intrigue!"
Once again, Charlotte Boyett-Compo takes us to a world far,
far away. This time, to the planet of Rysalia Prime, well,
not the planet really, but a station above Rysalia Prime,
Frontier Station Khamsin-14. After war on the planet when a
poisonous gas was released, all the females ended up either
sterile or dead. So the Rysalians began gathering females
from other planets, including Terra—or Earth. These
captured women are at the mercy of their captors, being
bought and sold and having no real say in their lives
anymore. Really, they're nothing more than slaves to the
Rysalians and any female offspring are killed while still
in the womb. Eventually, the women have enough of this and
so the Resistance is born. Prime Reaper Kamerone Cree finds himself in front of the
Tribunal. Due to his insolence, Cree is assigned a month at
what is referred to as Hell-12—a prison colony, after he
completes "treatment" at Behavioral Modification 9—
treatment being nothing more than mental torture and
brainwashing. Unbeknown to the authorities, Dr. Beryla Dean—
the director of Be-Mod 9—along with her co-conspirators
have plans for the Prime Reaper. Their plan is to have Cree
fall in love with Dr. Bridget Dunne and to this end, they
have coded some subliminal messages in Cree's treatments.
Since Reapers are never exposed to the "softer" feelings
while they grow up, the Resistance has its work cut out for
it. Of course, Bridget just happens to let slip she's got a
date with another man later and must be on her way during
the course of Cree's stay in Be-Mod 9. When Cree is finally
released from Be-Mod 9 and is back in his own quarters
awaiting transport to Hell-12, he finds out it will be
delayed due to weather. Cree finds himself thinking of
Bridget all the time, he's even dreaming of her. Before he
leaves for the prison colony, Cree manages to "buy" Bridget
right under Konnor Rhye's nose. The fact Rhye was planning
on Joining with Bridget has no effect on Cree's decision to
have Bridget, thereby making a powerful enemy of the man. Will Cree be allowed to keep Bridget? Will he fall in love
with her? Will she love him in return? Exactly what does
the Resistance have planned for Cree? THE WINDDEMON TRILOGY BOOK 1: BLOODWIND is one of those
books you just can't forget. Once again Charlotte Boyett-
Compo gives us a bad boy thought to be beyond redemption.
Especially considering the fact he's forced to undergo
torture beyond reckoning. But as with all of Charlotte
Boyett-Compo's stories, there is a love meant to be sure to
redeem our hero. This story has it all—plots within plots,
a tortured hero and as always, a love meant to be. Now I
can't wait to read the rest of this trilogy.

The Rysalian Empire, in their determination to crush their enemies, had unleashed their horror upon themselves instead. But the women of the megaverse and beyond, even unto Terra, paid the price. Plucked from their home worlds and enslaved by the Rysalian warriors, they were bought and sold, bred and discarded or slain at the whim of their captors … until the Resistance was born of their hate and suffering. The Elite warriors, the Reapers were the demons of every Terran woman's nightmare. And one in particular was a nightmare in his own right, a killer among killers. His name was Kamerone Cree. But the Resistance needed him and it fell to Dr. Brigit Dunne to do the unthinkable, the impossible--she must seduce Captain Kamerone Cree and make him fall in love with her to turn him from the Empire. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Rating: Contains graphic sexual content, adult language, and violence.
