"a satisfying erotic novella"
Josie Weston had it all figured out. She had a great job,
would be graduating from college soon, and was hoping to
become part owner of "The Essence of Life" cafe.
Everything was going according to plan until her boss's
brother showed up unexpectedly making her feel like a third
wheel. Now her plans may be ruined by this unwelcome
visitor who has quickly become invaluable to his sister and
quite the charmer to the ladies. Worst of all, Josie has
found herself reluctantly attracted to him. Forrest Jankowski can see the future. Born into a
paranormal family, Forrest learned to accept his gift at an
early age. To disguise his ability, he "reads" Tarot cards
and earns a living as a fortune teller. His precognition
led him to his sister's café, but recently her employee has
started showing up in his visions. Josie's frosty exterior
is pretty convincing, but he can see past the resentment to
her true feelings. When Josie's Tarot card reading
reveals danger lurking in the shadows, Forrest fears for
her safety. As they grow closer, Forrest will have to
convince Josie that his psychic ability is real...and so are
his feelings for her. IN THE CARDS is a satisfying erotic novella. The
interracial romance and paranormal elements enhance the
story without overpowering it. At times the main female
character comes across as stubborn and judgmental, but
overall the characters balance out each other nicely. They
burn up the pages when they finally do get together in this
perfectly paced story. The Jankowski Family sounds
intriguing and I hope to read more about them in the future.
