"A great finish to a great story of vampires and love."
The soul eater is nearing god status and he has to be
stopped. It is time to make a final stand and it may mean
that Carrie will loose people she loves or it may even mean
losing her own life. What Carrie has on her side is power.
She didn't know she had it but will it be enough to bring
down the army the Soul Eater is building? Carrie hopes that good will overcome evil because the odds
are not in her favour. She has friends to help her but it
is nothing compared to what the other side has. The fate of
the world is in her hands, a few other vampires, a human
and a werewolf who is also half vampire. Will they manage
to defeat the Soul Eater? Can they save the world? This is the fourth part in the 'Blood Ties' (no, not the TV
one) series and it is also the last. I have been with
Carrie from the beginning and it has been a rocky road and
there has been a lot of death, hurt and change. However
Carrie has always remained strong and nothing changes in
this final book. In some ways I felt this book was just written to finish
off things, maybe a little forced? However there is no
doubt that I did enjoy it and found it extremely
interesting. The author managed to raise some of the dead
that I truly didn't expect to see again. She also wrote a
brilliant and totally unexpected ending. A great finish to
a great story of vampires and love. Carrie is a wonderful lead in this series and there are
some great good and evil characters as well as some nice
sidekicks. If you haven't read this series yet then try out
the first book, 'The Turning'. Jennifer Armintrout has
managed to not write a lovey dovey paranormal series but a
good, strong urban fantasy series like Jeanne Stein and
Jenna Black. I am glad to see this will not be the last we see of this
author. Her new series 'Lightworld' is due out next year.
