"an enjoyable paranormal"
Kira Smythe returned to her hometown of Sweet, Texas after
a very
traumatic experience left her drained mentally and
physically. Once in
Sweet, which is a very eccentric and magical town, Kira
begins to hear
voices. Meanwhile, Kira meets sexy carpenter, Caleb Price,
who is more
than he seems. After Kira's mentor dies and leaves her the
town's
magical library, Kira finds herself seeing dead people and
trying to
come to grips with the changes in her life. LIKE A CHARM is an interesting paranormal romance,
which delves
deeply into Kira's character. Because it is told in first
person, LIKE
A CHARM gives great insight into Kira's fears and
insecurities.
Unfortunately, all these thoughts seemed to slow the pacing
of the story
and it seemed to drag toward the middle. However, the
story picked up
toward the end, with less self-doubt and more action. All in all, LIKE A CHARM is an enjoyable paranormal
with a heroine
who gets my dream life. Sexy man + magical library = dream
life.

From the acclaimed author of Charmed & Dangerous comes a sassy new paranormal romance about a gorgeous librarian who sees dead people. Kira Smythe never thought she'd end up back in her hometown of Sweet, Texas. But now that her high-powered job, along with her five-year plan, have gone right out the window, she's back where she started, staying with her hippie, tofu-obsessed parents-except that somehow she's inherited the local library. At least there's a gorgeous guy in town who seems quite smitten with her. So what if he's got a few secrets up his sleeve? After all, Kira's got her own secrets. Like the dead people who won't stop talking to her. Or the magical books on the shelves. Or the fact that someone who's very much alive seems determined to push her over to the other side.
