"this series is a paranormal phenomenon"
Unbeknownst to the human population, a war is being
waged that will determine the continuation of the vampire
species. Only one thing stands between survival and
extinction, The Black Dagger Brotherhood... Several months after whisking Cormia away from the
Sanctuary to the Brotherhood's compound, Phury is still
struggling with his role as Primale of the Chosen after
relieving Vishous of the responsibility. He has yet to
consummate with his First Mate and begin his duties with
the other Chosen. Selfless Phury has always put the needs
of others and his responsibilities to his family and the
race before his own, and he has suffered much for this.
These self-imposed sacrifices have left Phury guilt ridden
and spiraling downward into addiction and bitterness. His
conflicting feelings for Cormia, and propensity for Red
Smoke has sent his world crashing down around him, and may
forever change his relationship with the Brotherhood. Cormia, though still trying to acclimate herself to the
sensory stimulation of living at the Mansion, has begun to
see Phury as someone she can love and respect rather than
fear. The problem is, despite her training as a Chosen, she
may not be willing to share Phury for the good of the race.
But Phury and Cormia are quite literally worlds apart and
have much to overcome before happiness is even a distant
hope. Meanwhile, Zsadist is barely dealing with the innate
dangers of Bella's pregnancy, and a volatile incident at
the training center has far reaching consequences for the
newly transitioned John Matthew, and the future of the
Brotherhood. The Omega has stepped up the war against the
vampires and some shocking revelations come into play. J. R. Ward once again shows why this series is a paranormal
phenomenon. Phury's story delivers insight into this most
private and sensitive of the Brothers, and his journey will
keep you riveted. The myriad of emotions the author is able
to wring from the characters and the reader is simply
amazing. Readers stay hungry for the story of each
Brother's hard-run road to finding their mate, but it's the
intricate weaving of sub plots and back story, and her
intense characters that keep readers craving the next
installment of the series. Once again we wait impatiently
for Rehvenge's story coming in May 2009. But readers can
sooth their frizzled nerves with an inside look at the
series when The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's
Guide releases in October 2008.
