"sweet, poignant and steamy"
Sarah Hooper needed a holiday in the worst way. Escaping
the crush of London for a week's trip to Somerset in Wells
sounded perfect, if only her boyfriend hadn't cancelled on
her. Ah well, she'd just go it alone. But strange things
start happening around Sarah. The statues of two Great War
soldiers came to life for her, and only her new landlady
Nina and she can see them. Ernest and Albert find the
world a very different place, but the love they have for
each other, Sarah, and Nina would see them through. Will
Sarah learn how to accept and love the three new people in
her life, or will she decide to be with her current beau?
I loved this story. It was sweet, and poignant. Ms.
Applebee made me want to change places with the heroine of
the story. There is so much love and acceptance in this
story; I could hardly find myself tearing away from it.
Her writing is superb and highly erotic as well. I would
love to see other works from this author, who manages to
capture the sweetness of the past as well as the promise of
the future in her works.

When one of Sarah's new friends mysteriously disappears, she has to learn how to fight for the people she cares about. She discovers an inner power that makes her strong enough for any challenge and is rewarded by the love and support of her lovers, both living and dead.
