REVIEW

"a beautifully written romance"

When Julian found out what Dr. Cecelia Barnes was working on, research on blood diseases, he knew he had to keep an eye on her. He could tell how smart she was, and how her eyes just caught you when you looked into hers made him want to help her with this research. So Julian knew he had to make a plan for him and his people's future and their lives. He planned to seduce her, and try to get what information she had to see how far she's gotten and what she has found, and if they are endangered by what she has found out. But that plan changes very fast, he goes to war against his old Master because his old Master just wanted Cecelia killed, because then she wouldn't be a danger to them. But all Julian knows is he can't live without this woman, she has become his light, his reason for living, so he must keep her safe even from his own kind. The love and passion between the two grows so intense and strong, more than either ever thought they could feel for someone else. But Julian lives in fear that if he tells her what he is, that he will lose her, and he can't lose her. Can she forgive him for lying to her so far? Will she see why he did what he did and forgive him?

This was one of those vampire romances you can't put down from the start. The way Julian started out feeling about Cecelia was to seduce her to find out what information she has. Being a vampire, him and his kind are worried about what she will find and that it will endanger their future. But after seeing and being with her, he knows he must have this woman. When his old Master just wants her killed, Julian must go against his own kind to keep the woman he loves alive. But how will she feel about him when she finds out that he is a vampire? This story was a beautifully written romance that had my heart feeling warm. I look forward to reading more by December Quinn.

SUMMARY

Dr. Cecelia Barnes' research on blood diseases made vampire Julian Mansfield want to watch her. Her intelligence and spirit, not to mention the sparkle in her eyes, made him want to help her.

Julian planned to seduce her work — which endangers all vampires — out of her, but her strength and wit seduce him right back. Before he knows it he's changing his plans and starting a bloody, violent war against his old master in a desperate bid to save the life of the woman he's quickly realizing he can't live without.

As their passionate meeting turns into a full-blown love affair more intense than either of them expected, Julian is tortured by the knowledge that he must admit to Cecelia that he is a vampire, or lose her…but when she finds out he's been lying, will she want to stay?
