"The series just keeps getting better!"
For some time now, Baris has noticed that Anika is acting
differently, and now she's demanded he leave. Of course,
Baris doesn't want to leave his wife and son Thale. When
Anika refuses to allow Baris to bleed her, he takes matters
into his own hands and uses his Vector magic on her. He
knows she needs to be bled since the scent of iron is so
strong on her. Feeling guilty for forcing the issue, he
goes for a walk and Deidre is there. She has become a very
good friend to Baris, listening to his problems. So when he
tells her he is leaving since it is Anika's wish, she begs
to go with him. Deidre really doesn't want to marry Holt,
the man her father has given her to. Since Baris doesn't
believe in forced marriages, he agrees. When he goes home
to pack, he finds Anika in really bad shape and decides to
take her to Jaeger and Rhiannon, hoping they will be able
to cure whatever illness she may have. So Baris shapeshifts into a dragon and carries the three of
them. When he becomes tired, Baris stops and Anika runs
off. When he starts to go after Anika, Thale ends up bitten
by a snake, so instead of going after his wife, Baris takes
Thale to the Lair, knowing Darius will be able to help.
When Baris returns to Deidre, there is still no sign of
Anika. So he determines to keep searching for her, and
Deidre goes with him. The longer they travel together, the
weaker Baris becomes. He finds he can no longer shape-shift
as easily or for any length of time. Not to mention, he
thinks of Anika and Thale less and less and finds himself
more attracted to Deidre. What is behind Anika's illness? Will Baris and Deidre find
her? What of the attraction between Baris and Deidre? Will
he act on it, or remain faithful to his wife? And why is
Baris becoming weaker? BLOOD BRED SERIES BOOK 2: FROM THE HEART is thrilling story
of revenge and love. JennaKay Francis brings her world of
Vectors and witches to vivid life in this series. With each
story, we learn more of the way society treats these
outcasts. We have a naïve young man—sometimes a bit too
naïve—truly in love with his wife and wanting nothing more
than her happiness. We also have a beautiful young woman,
more evil than anyone knows, and willing to do anything to
get her revenge on another. The depths to which she plunges
are truly amazing and just how much she manages to get her
hooks in Baris. This is a wonderful series and one you
don't want to miss.

And Dierdre, a devastatingly beautiful young woman slides into Baris' life, seduction on her mind.

To add to his agony, the child is bitten by a poisonous snake and Baris takes him to the Lair to save his life. Once reunited with Dierdre, the pair set off in search of Anika. But as the days turn to weeks with no sign of his wife, Baris must accept that possibility that she does not wish to be found. As his life grows increasingly entangled with Dierdre, he makes the mistake of feeding on a young man who is addicted to a powerful drug called Hack.
