"Totally different take on vampires!"
Simone Tarry has a good life. She's got a good job, her own
condo, parents who love her and her dog. The only thing she
doesn't have is a man, but that's okay with her. On her way
home from her tae kwon do class, Simone decides to take a
shortcut through the park. Even though she knows better,
it's late, her condo is right on the other side of the park
and will save a lot of time and as sore as she is, anything
that will cut down on how much she has to walk sounds good
to her. Wouldn't you know it? She ends up being mugged and
knocked out. When she wakes up, a beautiful woman is
standing over her. The woman's name is Shadia Tepes and
Simone is thankful there was someone around. Eventually
Simone treats Shadia to a meal. After the meal is over,
Simone offers to take Shadia to her home so she can call a
cab. A big mistake when Shadia ends up attacking Simone.
Finally managing to kill Shadia using a graduation gift
from her grandmother—a silver fork—Simone goes to clean up
and get the taste of Shadia's blood out of her mouth.
Totally exhausted after cleaning up her condo, Simone goes
to bed. Simone realizes she has changed since Shadia's attack. And
not in a good way. She's a vampire. So what does a modern
woman do, but hit the Internet. After researching the
topic, Simone finds one thing worth note—out of all the
different sources, they all say the only cure for vampirism
is to find and destroy the one who created the vampire,
before taking the blood of a person. Since Shadia mentioned
being in Nigeria, that's where Simone heads. And so begins
her quest to find and destroy the vampire who made Shadia.
Of course, her journey is not an easy one when she finds
herself a target not only of the police, but of other
vampires as well. Will Simone be able to find Shadia's maker? Will Simone
survive long enough to end her quest? What will she find at
the end of it? VAMPIRE OF GOD is a very different type of vampire story.
Javan Shepard has taken the vampire and made it his own
creation. The story is filled with enough action to hold
the interest of any reader, including sword fights. I also
enjoyed the concept of how vampires came to exist in the
first place and their outlook on life. All in all, this is
an enjoyable read.

Simone Tarry always wanted to see the world. When that day finally came, it was not a dream vacation or romantic getaway- it was on a quest to save her soul. She travels alone through an hidden society that was ancient when man was still young to find the creator of the vampire who destroyed her life. All the while, she is pursued by the American police and immortal assassins who have marked her for death. To stay alive she violates many of the Christian beliefs she considered sacred her entire life: Thou shalt not lie; thou shalt not steal and most importantly, thou shalt not kill.
