"a cosy romance mystery which will appeal to a lot of readers"
Leanne Aimes's best friend Jenny has started a new business
venture called Pyjama Dates. The idea is basically a
dating service but the people who have signed up get to
meet at a slumber party. Jenny is very confident about her
new business venture and even though her previous ventures
haven't actually gone that well Leanne agrees to take part
to support her best friend. Gage Braxton is not interested in romance but he is
interested in catching criminals. When he finds out that a
drug dealer he is after will be attending Pyjama dates he
ends up at the crazy slumber party to catch the bad guy.
However he finds Leanne is a dangerous distraction and has
to try hard to keep his mind off her while on the job. The party is going to plan until a body turns up in the
freezer. Suddenly things are not looking good for the
bunch of singles when they realise that all the phone lines
and the cars have been tampered with. Stuck a long way
from civilisation in a snow blizzard and no way to contact
the outside world, Gage and Leanne join forces to try and
make some sense out of everything while hoping that neither
one of them is really the murderer. The characters are lovable but somehow not realistic. With
Jenny being the rich party girl and Leanne the normal
follow the leader type it was hard to see Leanne being
someone who would fall head over heels for a guy she had
just met for the first time. As interesting as this was I
felt the story was forced and that the plot had not been
well thought out beforehand but just made up as things went
along. This is a cosy romance mystery which will appeal to a lot
of readers. However if you are someone who wants depth and
a realistic feel to a storyline this isn't for you. Fluffy
and fun this is romantic but not amazingly sexy.
