"A Must for Robin Hood Fans!"
Marian has a crush on the legendary Robin Hood, but she
never thought she'd actually be swept back in time to find
out he truly exists.
A freak accident sends Marian and a friend Orlando
(streetwise boy) back in time landing in ancient Ole
England. Sir Guy of Gisborne and the Sheriff of Nottingham
are alive and making everyone's life miserable as they
greedily take what they want regardless of the consequences. The Robin Hood story has new slant. Maid Marian is a
horse; Guy of Gisborne wants to force Elaine (not Marian)
to marry him so he can get his grubby hands on her dowry.
Marian and Orlando's arrival causes things to go awry.
Marian looks exactly like Elaine. When the Sheriff and Guy
of Gisborne think they've killed Elaine in their attempt to
take her, they decide they will use Marian in Elaine's
place. They devise a tale for King John that Marian is
Elaine's long lost twin sister. Before they can whisk her
away the wood-devils arrive and all hell breaks loose.
Marian's head hurts with everything that's happened-time
travel, attacked by Guy and the Sheriff. It's no wonder
she passes out. She wakes up in Roland, the lord of
Huntingdon's home and now is being forced to marry him. If
things couldn't get any worse, she doesn't know what
happened to Orlando. He's disappeared. And she comes to
find out that Robin Hood really does exist. Robin is the only man she can give her heart to, only now
she's married to Roland. Let me tell you, Roland has a few
secrets of his own, too, but you'll have to read the story
to find out what they are. I love the story of Robin Hood and Ms. Riser did a fabulous
job of putting her own spin on the lovable tale. You'll be
swept back in time with the author's vivid descriptions of
the era, while being immersed in the magic of legend
itself. A must read! Reviewed by: Karen

Some are born to greatness. Others have it thrust upon them. Marian Allanson would prefer to avoid it, period. Emotionally scarred, and haunted by nightly dreams of the mythical Robin Hood, Marian is just limping through life till a mysterious quirk of fate tosses her and twelve-year-old street kid Orlando Konstantinos centuries into the past. Now she’s on a full-scale run through medieval Sherwood, threatened by the Sheriff of Nottingham, and discovering there may be truth to the myth, after all. A forest phantom appears out of the shadows to rescue her from death, then disappears again, leaving her to a different danger in the form of a forced marriage to Lord Roland of Hunterdon, a man hot enough to melt a maid’s skivvies—despite the fact underwear hasn’t been invented yet. To make matters worse, when the old sheriff is murdered, Roland steps into the job with plans to kill Robin Hood, unless Marian can stop him. Or will Roland be the one to die? With the questions striking deeper than Robin’s arrows, and a sudden uncertainty as to who’s the villain and who’s the hero, “Maid Marian” has much more to worry about than her missing unmentionables. And speaking of missing, where the devil is Orlando? Before the secrets crack open and the dust clears, an unlikely heroine will rise from her own ashes, a legend will be rewritten, and a love will be forged strong enough to conquer time...
