"the story will pull at your heartstrings"
Antonia wasn't ready for her boyfriend to be back in her
life, that is the problem. He makes her feel things she
isn't ready to feel. She and Danton had been so great
together; perfect in fact, that is what scared her so much.
Then he told her he had to get married because he was about
to be a father. Antonia was like, ummm wait a minute here?
How could he be going to be a father? She wasn't pregnant,
so who the hell was? It tore her heart out, the man she
loved was going to have a baby with someone else, how could
that be? Antonia was torn apart and couldn't believe it.
Three months after she found out, she was in a fog, not
really living. Then in walks the man that tore her heart
out, Danton, and he wants her back and will take not take
no for an answer. Can she forgive him after she finds out
what really happened? Danton loved Antonia with all his heart and soul. But she
didn't know his whole life, some things he kept hidden from
her, and those things are what tore them apart. Danton had
been on a mission that he should never have made it out
alive, but he did thank god. But while on that mission he
had had an impromptu wedding as a cover, but he knew it was
in name only, there was no consummating it at all; he was
in love with his Antonia. But when he was told he was going
to be a daddy, he wanted to do the right thing and have a
paternity test, but in doing that he lost the woman he
loved by telling her. When the test came back negative,
there was nothing stopping him from getting the woman he
loved back, nothing. He had had to give her up three months
before, but he was getting her back, she was going to be
his. I have read Mary Wine since her first book came out. She
was great back then, and, wow if it is possible, she is
even better today. This story had me in tears and had me
smiling. I loved the way Danton and Antonia played off of
each other and the passion between them, along with the
love they felt for each other; it just made you feel that
love can conquer all when there are deep feelings involved.
The pain that Antonia went through before she knew the
whole story will pull at your heartstrings.
