"A very chilling into look into the eyes of evil."
All her life, Eve has had strange dreams. Add that to the
fact she has "healed" people by putting her hands on them,
and her mother is convinced Eve is the spawn of the devil.
Instead of embracing her "gift" of healing, Eve has gone in
the opposite direction and has become ultra-religious.
She's even involved with a preacher's son to facilitate
this. Even though she doesn't love him, nor does he love
her, Eve is hoping to become more spiritual with this
association. As Eve grew up, the dreams have become more
and more sexual, forcing her into Eric's arms. Not only is
Eve dreaming of a man, now she's hearing his voice in her
head. Adam Omega is the king of vampires in the US. When he was
turned over a thousand years ago, his wife, Eyanna, was so
upset she took her own life and Adam has never gotten over
this. Highly successful now with more money than he can
ever spend, Adam is quite an unusual vampire. See, he has
the ability to go out into the sunlight and can enter a
church. Adam can even take communion and wash his hands in
holy water. Due to this, other vampires fear Adam,
especially when he wants them to walk in the sunlight. Even
though Adam believes this is due to his belief, it's really
because of a mutation. Only a very few vampires have this
mutation and refuse to allow others to take their blood.
Now, however, Adam is aware of his dead wife's soul. She
has been reborn as Eve and Adam is determined to have her. Is there any hope for a relationship between Adam and Eve?
Will Eve give up Eric because of Adam? Will Adam make Eve a
vampire, even though she has no desire to become one? What
lengths will Adam go to in order to make Eve his? IN THE BEGINNING is a very different type of vampire story.
F.D. Davis does a wonderful job of delving into the mind of
an obsessed man, one who doesn't believe the rules apply to
him. While what happens between these two isn't always easy
to read, Adam does remain true to himself. While I wouldn't
exactly call this a romance (no HEA), there is a bond
between the two main characters and they do have a
relationship. All in all, this is a stunning look into evil.

A Vampire Series

Then he sees, and Eve and anger burns into existence when he discovers the soul of his long dead Eyanna now resides in this mortal's body. Eve's quest for a more spiritual life is fueled by dreams that she can't quite remember. She's running from evil and runs straight into the path of a vampire that desires her.
