"A story of redemption and love!"
When we last left the Reapers and their women, they were
all at the Citadel after defeating the Ceannus. After what
he has gone through, Owen Tohre decides to leave, and the
Shadowlords allow it. Now months later, Owen has been
abusing his tenerse in an effort to get some sleep. He has
not been doing much of anything in his territory, still
trying to get over what was done to him. After taking
Sustenance from his horse and managing to get on its back,
Owen hears a child screaming and takes off. The child is
drowning and Owen manages to save the boy's life before he
passes out. When he comes to, he's restrained to a bunk and
it turns out he's with a group Communalists, a very strict
religious group, and no longer in his territory. Since everyone knows no one will offer to marry her, even
though her father is in charge of their community, Rachel
is training to become a Healer and one of her duties is to
nurse the Reaper. Unknown to her, the Goddess Morrigunia
begins controlling Rachel to heal Her Reaper. Not able to
control his actions, Owen ends up doing everything but
taking Rachel's virginity, unaware of what will happen to
her. Meanwhile, turns out there are some nasty forms of
vampires, Drochtairs, living in the area and the
Shadowlords are sending two more Reapers to help Owen wipe
them out. Will Owen ever be over his tenerse abuse? Will Rachel help
heal him? What will happen to Rachel when her father finds
out what she has done with Owen? Will the Reapers be able
to wipe out the Drochtairs? Will there be a happily ever
after for Rachel and Owen? TEARS OF THE REAPER WESTERN WIND BOOK 4 just proves a
series can become better with each new story. Charlotte
Boyett-Compo opens the world of the Reapers just a bit more
with each new release in this series. The one thing I love
about Charlotte Boyett-Compo's books is how she pulls us
into the emotions of the characters. We experience what
they're going through as we take the journey to true love
with them. And while there's always pain and loss, there's
also love. A love meant to be and one that will not be
denied. And TEARS OF THE REAPER is no exception to this
rule. We feel everything Owen goes through as he tries to
save the Communalists, even though he hates them for what
they have done to Rachel. This is one you just don't want
to miss.
