"a twisted path of love, deception, and the eternal hope for redemption"

Will the light of a woman's love defeat the darkness in Tristan St. Blaise?

Over four centuries earlier Tristain had been apprenticed to Benito Achilles, an alchemist whose lust for power led him to create a monster. Inside Tristain's soul lies a beast waiting only for it's next meal of blood and revenge. Tristan vowed he would only let the evil within him destroy those who would harm the weak and innocent, but he could never fully reconcile his cursed existence with the human heart still beating warm inside his chest.

Angelia Lightheart was an innocent who calls out for a savior when she is about to be raped. When Tristan appears, taking the life of the man who assaulted her, Angelia is both mesmerized and horrified. He is an enigma who soon becomes central to her life. Though she truly cares for him, she can never forget the vision of a creature drinking the lifeblood of another human being. Is this man of darkness the lover she longs to share her life with, or an evil she can never accept?

Ms. Mancos is an enigmatic storyteller, keeping the reader as fascinated as Angelia by the stormy passions that lie within her hero. The pacing is flawless as we are led along a twisted path of love, deception, and the eternal hope for redemption. Each secondary character, especially Benito and Tristan's son Julien, leave an indelible imprint on our emotions. Our hearts rise and fall with the vibrant rhythms of this wonderfully wrought version of an age old tale of good against evil. The romance is deeper and burns hotter because the characters must struggle against their fears and doubts. Each page keeps you silently cheering them on. I hope to see more of these characters since Julien's story remains unresolved. Don't miss out on this excellent read, you won't regret a single word.

SUMMARY

Four-hundred years ago, Tristain St. Blaise worked as an apprentice for alchemist, Benito Achilles. When an experiment went terribly wrong, it fused an entity to Tristainís soul, turning him from an enlightened man of reason to one of dark passions. He takes on the mantle of a hired killer in order to protect innocents and rid the world of men like Achilles, and find some measure of redemption.

Angelia Lightheart has worked hard trying to purge her life of unhealthy relationships. One night in a dark Manhattan alley, she is saved from a would-be rapist by a man who seems able to look into her very soul to the weary heart she hides from the world.

Now, as Angelia and Tristain fall in love, his work as a contract killer brings him face to face with the one responsible for his immortal state and endangers not only their love, but Angeliaís life.
