"great start to a must read vampire series"
It had taken Byron Renfield years to get where he is today,
and now he is successful, good looking and very wealthy, oh
and did I say a vampire? He is head of the Treasure of his
Clan's most important trust. And of course they are quite
happy that he has been head of this for as long as he was,
a lot of people have him to thank for being able to say
they are financially secure now. But for him to keep
himself pure of a sort, he now lives on a small private
Island so that he is far away from human temptations. But
that all changed the day that Violet Deeds gets stranded on
his of all islands. Violet is so beautiful through and
through that she draws him like no other. She speaks what
she feels and thinks, that is sometimes good and other
times a pain, but that makes her who she is and why he is
so drawn to her. His people forbid vampires from being with
humans, but Byron isn't sure if that is enough anymore.
This woman makes him feel like he would do anything, even
break the code of his people to have Violet as his own.
Byron is ready to spend forever with Violet, not anyone,
not even his clan will change his mind. Violet Deeds knew what she wanted, but she never dreamed
that she would be stranded on a private island, and with
someone like Byron. As they get to know each other she is
so drawn to this man that Violet finds herself wanting him
to touch her, to kiss her and to show her the passions
between a man and a woman. But will she feel the same when
she finds out who and what he is? And when she finds out
that his people forbid them from being together, and this
puts his and her life in danger, is it worth all the danger? Wow, Samantha Sommersby's first book in her Forbidden
series really sets up the series perfectly. I loved the way
that when Byron saw Violet for the first time he felt the
pull to her like no other, and that she meant more to him
than what the clan forbids any vampire being with a human.
Byron has put his clan first for so many years that now it
is his time to have a woman that will love him and make him
feel whole again, and that is what Violet does for him. The
sexual magnetism they both have for the other, it was just
written so beautifully that I couldn't put it down. I look
forward to reading the second in this wonderful series by
Ms. Sommersby.

Byron Renfield has spent years climbing the social ladder, and is now successful, handsome, independently wealthy...and a vampire. For over two centuries, he’s held the honored position of Treasurer of his Clan’s most sacred Trust. He’s also been responsible for the financial security of the most elite of the immortals, the Dominie. In order to ensure his redemption, Byron isolated himself on a small private island, away from all temptation. It was a good plan…until the day Violet Deeds was stranded there. Violet is beautiful, sexy, outspoken, and a human, which makes her completely off limits. His society’s canon may forbid relationships between vampires and humans, but will that be enough to help Byron and Violet conquer the intensity of their attraction to one another? Or will Byron succumb and take a little nibble? This is a fresh new twist on the classic vampire tale of seduction. Extremely erotic, Forbidden: The Claim has a hero that you’ll want to spend eternity with and a heroine you’ll envy. It’s the first in what is surely going to be a fabulously successful series for Samantha Sommersby.
