"Hot and Steamy! A Can't Miss Fantasy Read!"
Anyone passing this book up will definitely miss a great
read. Mortianna is the queen of the witches and she is
morning over the death of her daughter Bliss. Mortianna
holds Sinjinn responsible for her daughter's death although
Bliss didn't die by Sinjin's hands. Mortianna still
blames Sinjinn for having been the one to turn Bliss into a
revenant thereby giving her immortality via the vampires
kiss. For this reason Moritanna hates
Damien St. James aka Sinjin. While in mourning, Mortianna sends for her son Quinn.
Quinn is the son that Mortianna sent away when he was a
baby because he was a boy, which was something she had no
use for. Because of his Wiccan beliefs, Quinn turns his
mother down which she sees as a betrayal. Due to her hate of Sinjinn, she orders minions to kidnap
him. These minions are not all that smart.... Not only
did they bring back the wrong person, but they didn't even
get the person's sex right. They brought back a woman
revenant, Maeve, not an elder male vampire. Once Mortianna
realizes what happened she orders her minions to kill
Maeve. Because of his beliefs, Quinn can not allow
Mortianna to kill this woman; so he decides to save her. Once Quinn saves Maeve he sets out to take her back to
Sinjinn's home where she had been staying (or being kept
prisoner depending on whose point of view you take) but
Maeve has plans of her own. Maeve is seeking to take
revenge on the elder that not only was responsible for
making her a revenant but for the death of her twin
sister. What both Quinn and Maeve didn't count on is the
growing attraction and sexual tension between them. An
attraction that both of them fight for their own private
reasons. Once they get back, they find Sinjinn in a trance. Not
only that but Mortianna is on her way to take her revenge
on Sijinn for her daughter's death and on Quinn for his
betrayal. How does Maeve's plans for revenge affect the
situation with Mortianna and will she actually turn against
her friends to achieve this revenge? What will happen to
the others in the house? Will Mortianna succeed in her
plans to destroy Sinjinn and if she does who else will also
have to pay the price? Will Maeve lose Quinn over her need
for revenge on the elder vampire? What other hidden
agenda's are there? There are many more things going on than what I have
revealed in this review. Things that make this book not
only hot and steamy but a definite can't miss read. Carol Castellanos /October, 2000
