"a gritty, thrilling urban fantasy"
Daphne Urban is a very unique spy, who works with two other
vampires in Team Darkwing. In their latest mission, Team
Darkwing is
charged with rescuing the daughters of members of New York
High Society
from terrorists. Meanwhile, Daphne struggles with her
personal
relationships with human, St. Julien "Fitz" Fitzmaurice,
and her
attraction to Darkwing's new recruit, Rogue. IN THE BLOOD is a gritty, thrilling urban fantasy with
a great
tortured heroine. This book, told in first person,
highlights Daphne's
inner struggle to maintain strong human morals, while
fighting her
vampire nature. Although IN THE BLOOD, contains romantic
elements, I
would classify it as an urban fantasy, not a romance. Ms.
Russe weaves
an intriguing tale, which involved me in Daphne's life, and
I hope to
read the next book in the series soon.
