"Werewolf love!"
Once again, we're back in the French Quarter Casino in Las
Vegas with the Temple pack. In our first story, CHANNELING
MOONLIGHT by Seressia Glass, our hero is Guy, now staying
at the Temple ranch after Laurel found her mate. While out
running one night, Guy notices a van on Temple land. And
when a pack of weres come out of the van and begin chasing
a human woman, Guy sees red. Not only are these weres
trespassing on Temple land, they're planning to kill a
human. As the woman's scent of moonflowers drifts to Guy,
he knows he must do what he can to save her. Guy takes on
the weres as the full light of the moon hits the woman and
somehow or other, she glows and the weres are blown apart.
Only one escapes. So Guy takes her back to the house and
calls his pack. This is something that can't be overlooked. Leila Davenport came out here to find her cousin. The two
of them are closer than sisters and both have a strange
mark of the moon on their wrists. Not surprisingly, Leila
has no idea what happened to her when the moonlight hit
her, but she is attracted to Guy. What is Leila? Will they figure it out? Will they be able
to find her cousin? Who was trying to kill Leila? Is there
a chance for her and Guy to be together? In PASSION'S BLOOD by Monique Lamont we have another of the
Temple "children", Octavia Montague. Octavia doesn't really
trust herself because her last relationship went bad.
Unfortunately, Octavia "turned" her ex, Melvin, and once
the man became a were he showed his true colors by cheating
on her. Now Melvin is part of Laurel's security team. While
going about her normal duties, Octavia ends up in one of
the boutiques in the casino, where she volunteers to unpack
some clothing. When she opens a box, she's hit with a dust
and immediately begins to react for it turns out the dust
is silver, fatal to a were. Lucky for her, she's not alone
in the shop. When Antoine Lancaster was informed his separated wife was
killed in Las Vegas, he decides a road trip is necessary.
His wife was working in the French Quarter Casino as a
dancer and that's where he heads. For some reason, he feels
compelled to go into one of the shops, where he hears a
woman obviously in pain. He goes in the back and up they go
to the offices, where two guards take the woman and dismiss
him. Naturally, he's not satisfied with that and needs to
find out what happened to her because he was instantly
attracted to her. Who is behind the silver? Will the Temple pack be able to
figure it out before Malcolm is to be installed as the
Alpha of the pack? Will Octavia be able to trust herself
with another man? Will Antoine give up on Octavia? For our third story, we revisit some characters from VEGAS
BITES, Garen Roy and Kellie. When this story ended in the
first anthology, Kellie and Garen were together, but
nothing permanent. Kellie still has no idea exactly what
she is, except she knows she is part Fae. This particular
night, Kellie is awakened by a vision of Garen's pack and
father being attacked by a golden wolf. So off they go to
find him. They know Dwayne, Garen's father, has been beaten
pretty badly and they will need a healer. Of course, when
Peyton volunteers to help them, both of them know something
is up because the witch doesn't volunteer for anything. Kellie is shocked when she learns she can heal someone. Not
surprisingly, every healing comes with a cost and Kellie is
exhausted when Dwayne is healed to the point where he can
recover on his own. Exactly what does Peyton want from Kellie? Who is behind
the golden wolf? Will Kellie ever learn what her powers are
and what she is capable of? What of the relationship
between her and Garen? Will she ever admit to forever with
him? Our final story in this anthology, AIN'T NOTHING BUT A HELL
HOUND by J.M. Jeffries, we deal with a different type of
creature, a hell hound, the lowest of the demons.
Alibosszeriaghteighilaux, or Ali for short, knows she only
has one chance at escape from hell, and that is to beg
sanctuary of Madame Esther at the French Quarter Casino.
Starting out as a wish demon, Ali was demoted time after
time until she's finally a hell hound and she's had enough.
Not surprisingly, sanctuary is granted and Esther has her
son, the one destined to become the next Alpha, Malcolm,
see to Ali. Malcolm can't believe he's actually attracted to a hell
hound. Granted, in human form, she's beautiful, and her
scent is irresistible to him, totally unexpected from a
demon, but he knows he needs to mate with a female were who
will bring something to the pack and the pressure on him to
take said mate is increasing the closer it gets to the time
when he will be named as Alpha as the pack. Will Malcolm be able to resist Ali? Exactly who is Ali and
why has she sought out Esther for sanctuary? Will the pack
ever accept a demon as their Alpha female? VEGAS BITES BACK is filled with all kinds of different
supernatural creatures. These four authors have done a
wonderful job of bringing them all to life in a very
realistic way. I found myself turning pages way past my
bedtime just to find out what happened next. And I really
enjoyed the way all the different creatures interacted.
This is one anthology you don't want to miss.
