"A really charming big, bad wolf (and coyote)"
When Patrice Spencer lost her parents at an early age,
there were a lot of things I'm sure she wished they had
been able to tell her. One glaring oversight was the fact
that she would start sprouting fur and fangs after she
turned 25. But that's o.k., since hunky Native American
Jackson shows up, announces he's a shaman, and gives her
the lowdown, including the fact that there's a hot male
werewolf nearby, ready to...help her out. What a shame—she
runs into two gorgeous men in as many days, but one's loco
and the other disappears before she can i.d. him. To top it
off, there's not enough Nair in the county to keep her legs
(and everything else) smooth. What's a small town
policewoman to do? How about howlin' in frustration? This entertaining and fast read combines catchy dialog, fun
characters, a murder mystery, and enough spice to season a
pot of 5-alarm chili. Though the characterizations are
drawn with a broad brush, they aren't cardboard cut-outs,
and there's more than enough plot to keep things
interesting outside the bedroom. I also hope Ms. James
revisits the character of Jackson / Coyote; he's sure to be
a great favorite with many readers, with his sensual
playfulness and mischievous yet sympathetic nature. Be
forewarned though, if you aren't comfortable with m/m or
ménage, this is not for you.

Patrice Spencer never thought she was a werewolf until a Shaman name Jackson told her she'd turn into a wolf at the next full moon. The dark-eyed, black-haired Jackson is a to-die-for male but when Patrice meets Alain Dupree, she knows he's her match. Alain came to Arizona when his father died. He senses another werewolf, a female, and his lonely heart cries out for her. A pesky coyote shifter named Jackson says he can help Alain not only have Patrice, but find out who killed Alain's father. Coyote Jackson loves to mess with the affairs of humans and this time he's hit the jackpot. Alain and Patrice need each other, and Jackson will do everything in his power to bring them together — even if it means having sex with both of them, as many times as it takes.
