"Forgiveness is the most difficult thing to give but the most cherished thing to receive"
Even though she was human, Heather lived a blessed life as
a member of a wolf pack, happily mated to brothers Cael and
Riyu. Until the day the hunters came, murdering her father-
in-law and assaulting her. Cael and Riyu cast Heather out, believing her responsible
for the attack. Will it be too late to regain her trust and
love, once they realize their terrible mistake? Those familiar with Maya Banks' other stories will be
surprised to find no steamy scenes in this tale, but don't
let that keep you away. Though this is a short story, Ms.
Banks crams a great deal of characterization into it. Her
descriptions are deftly drawn, and the action is well-
paced. The heroine is strong, but nearly broken, and the
two alpha males have to learn patience, humility and
gentleness as they try to rebuild the relationship they
destroyed. I really hope Ms. Banks finds a way to revisit
the pack, because I want an epilogue—I want to see how
Heather and her boys are...and, o.k., a steamy scene would be
nice, too!
