What if Earth was different because of political or
evolutionary events during our history as inhabitants on
this planet Earth? It's still the same fantastic San
Francisco and Northern California I grew up in, but it's
not either, it's so much more. Now you've entered the
world of the Changelings, Psy and human's... Nalini Singh's
imaginative and plausible world is fascinating. One side
holds the brilliant psychic minds of the cold and sterile
and yet the other side holds the passionate heart that is
both human and animal in nature. As world's do, the world
is changing, the world is evolving, and nature will always
strive to prevail. Changelings are strong and getting
stronger and Council is not pleased, logically they don't
fit the picture and where's the profit in that? What
happens though when you suppress things that are a part of
your very nature in your greed for another skill? Do you
destroy that which you want the most in your emotionless
efforts to obtain perfection? Do you create monsters that
prey on their victims in the most depraved of ways?
Monsters are capable of unnatural acts of violence and
killing in the name of psychopathic fulfillment. If you
could make a difference, what would you do about it? What
would you do to prevent murder? Faith NightStar, of the PsyClan NightStar, is a Cardinal
Psy, but not just any Psy. Faith is the best F-Psy ever, a
foreseer for her people. The reality of being a Cardinal F-
Psy is Silence, is a life relegated to protection as the
ultimate business asset she is, along with this comes the
risk and constant threat of insanity and her ultimate lack
of freedoms. This is the life she has always known, a life
that is killing her and driving her to madness, emotion and
visions of brutality lay in wait. The visions come, and
then come murders right along with the fear. However, with
all this comes Vaughn, lethal and wild Vaughn, the biggest
threat to her of all, he threatens her heart and soul, and
that is tantamount to death or rehabilitation for a Psy. Vaughn D'Angelo is a powerful predator, a sentinel for the
powerful DarkRiver Pack, no man or beast you would want to
tangle with, he is relentless, gorgeously male and every
inch the animal he is. Vaughn's more animal than most in
his pack. Through blood and honor this jaguar changeling
has earned his rank and position within his adopted pack.
Vaughn is a changeling, is truly part of the pack but he is
also jaguar, not Leopard and though adopted and loyal, his
past is haunted by the very circumstances that brought him
to his pack and his Alpha leader. With the threat of war,
business deals and politics looming, the last thing Vaughn
counted on was Faith, a beautiful tiny F-Psy. Slowly
coming to learn the Psy ways, he is still sentinel and she
is still Psy, a race of cold, unfeeling beings spawning
hidden evil. When Faith sees murders again and again all
he can do is fight to keep those he cherished safe, and
Faith became the single most important thing that mattered
in a world gone mad. That was bad, very bad and
dangerous. Would they survive to find out the outcome of
this incredible heat that threatens to consume them both? Ms. Singh is simply amazing, I can't say it enough, and
this series is brilliant! The world she has created is
fascinating, stimulating, beautiful and sensual. These
changelings are incredible males, perfection in human and
animal form, they are amazing creatures. Her characters
are so warm and full of life, heat and raw animal passion.
The development of this series is so clever and incredible,
I can't get enough. Nalini Singh is truly going to be an
award winning author, in award winning fashion she is
articulate with her vision, a vision you can truly see with
an action packed plot line that leaves you turning page
after page way past bedtime! If you love well written,
complex, active, dark and colorful worlds, this series has
it all.
