"Deception and DNA Do the Twist"
Brilliant geneticist Andrea Raynier is abducted and thrust
into the middle of a raging intergalactic war, with her
research abilities in hot demand. The Protarians'
combination of conventional and bio warfare has decimated
the Stilox home planet, and infected the population with a
deadly mutating virus. Domineering Commander Mal Ton Adoha
and the more subtle (but just as determined) Dr. Roark
Talbot join forces to persuade Andrea to use her research
to cure the virus that is wreaking havoc among their
people, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to win
her cooperation. But will they end up caught in their own
snare, and can love grow in the midst of death and
deception? Full of intergalactic espionage, deadly viruses, alpha
heroes, and a spunky research scientist heroine, Seducer is
a flash-bang start to a promising new storyline from Aubrey
Ross. Though the erotic element is strong (the story opens
in the middle of a sexual encounter), Ms. Ross also creates
a complex, high-action story filled with secret formulas,
double-agents, and underground revolutionaries. It's almost
too much content for the 125 page story; near the end, I
had to pause to make sure which faction I was trying to
follow. This might have been better suited to a longer
novel format, to allow for more secondary character
development and understanding of the Protarian/ Stilox
conflict. Still, the story held my interest, and I get the
idea there is plenty more intrigue waiting to unfold in
subsequent installments of this series. Be warned, though—
this is definitely erotic romance, emphasis on the erotic.
The sex starts early and happens often, between various
characters and for varied reasons. There is also coercion
and deception involved in the main relationship, which is,
for the majority of the book, a ménage. Aubrey Ross has crafted an ultra-steamy, fast-paced
adventure, with room for more stories to follow this, the
first of her Sensual Captivity series. Fans of high-octane,
erotic sci-fi romance will not be disappointed.

blatant sexuality. Slipping beneath her emotional defenses, Roark
unleashes her passionate nature and makes her long for the soul-deep
connection she gave up on long ago. She wants to believe they've found
a bond more meaningful than lust, but how can she trust her captors?
Now her sensuality is pitted against her intellect and the fate of two
worlds hangs in the balance.
