"totally hot!"
Still Waters Resort is a special resort; it only caters to
various types of werekind and their mates. Leigh Granger (a
werelion) has taken a position there to get away from her
violent ex-fiancé and for the first time that she can
remember, she feels safe. After being there for a while she
decides to go out and celebrate her new freedom and ends up
having a one night stand. Normally that would not be too
bad except that she did it with one of her new bosses,
Aidan Lassiter; and while in the throws of passion they
marked each other as mates (and as everyone knows, that is
as good as getting married). Just when she was getting used to the idea of having a
mate, her ex-fiancé finds her at the resort. Leigh does the
only thing she can think to do, she runs. Because no matter
what she does not want Aidan to be hurt because of her
past. Will Aidan be able to track Leigh down before her ex
does? And if he does, will Leigh let him protect her as a
mate? I really enjoyed this story for several reasons: one,
although it was a short story it did not feel like one.
Crystal Jordan did a fabulous job building this world with
a minimum of words. Two, the characters were such that I
instantly felt that I knew them and wanted to root for
them. And three, the most important in a romance story, the
chemistry between Leigh and Aidan was not only there but
totally hot!
