"the steamy conclusion to The Collector series"
Brandon King, a LAPD detective is in a relationship with a
fellow detective that can only be called abusive. But what
tops it off is when he finds out from another detective
that his lover is going to another station, and he hasn't
said one word to Brandon about it. Hurting and thinking he
will do anything to keep his lover, anything, even taking
the Collector to do a search for the Lost Temple of
Karttikeya. But that search leads him to Christian Carter,
who is an archaeologist. But Christian is very happy that
Brandon did what he did because Christian knows that
Brandon is the man for him. He knows that he has a fight on
his hands with Brandon, he doesn't see what others do; see
what a jerk his lover has been to him, that he only cared
about himself, not Brandon. But as they go on the search
and are in each others company things start to grow and
build. Brandon starts to see what he could have with a man
like Christian, a loving relationship, the real thing not a
one sided relationship like he had had with his ex lover.
Their new budding love is put to the test, but a test that
they must and will pass because they are meant to be
together. The chemistry between Christian and Brandon was
pure "Heat". I love Laura Baumbach's style of writing as it
is, but she out did herself with this story. The way she
built the story of what Brandon had gone through with his
selfish lover that didn't deserve him, to the man that was
his soul mate, Christian. I cannot say enough about this
wonderful story, the intrigue, and the search for the Lost
Temple of Karttikeya was great. Some day I would love to
own all of Laura's books in print and e-book, that shows
how I feel about this author.

During the course of an investigation, a mysterious man know only as the Collector crosses Brandon's path. He offers Brandon a chance at obtaining his deepest desire. Desperate to make his doomed relationship with Phil work, Brandon's heart overrules his head and he eventually accepts the quest to find an ancient Hindu statue. His investigation leads him to join forces with a charismatic, attractive, but enigmatic explorer, Christan Carter, who stirs more than just Brandon's professional curiosity. Fighting their mutual attraction, Brandon lets Christian lead him on an adventure into the jungles of India where they meet deadly challenges presented by the primitive land and encounter a centuries old love affair. Here they find themselves at the mercy of a powerful temple guardian unlike any they could have imagined. Brandon has to decide if the price of his desire is worth the personal cost. But does he even know what his true desire is? Or who?
