"Completely sexy, Completely action packed and a COMPLETELY scintillating Vampire experience!"
Kiss of Crimson is my first Lara Adrian book and I can tell
you right now it WILL NOT be my last. On a whim I chose
this book while getting ready for a trip, not realizing it
was the second book in the series [Kiss of Midnight is the
first]. And not realizing I would be drawn in so
completely. Good news I am going back to get the first book
and even better news the third book in this series,
Midnight Awakening, is going to be released in a few
months!!! Dante is a man who has lived more than 200 years and
belongs to a group of warriors that hunts down their own
that have turned rogue and kill indiscriminately. In the
process of one of his evening missions he is outnumbered
and literally blown away in to the Mystic river in the
process. He manages to get help when he stumbles upon a
rather lovely Veterinarian, Tess Culver, working late. In
the process of taking her blood to heal his ravaged body he
sees the birth mark upon her hand that signifies her as a
breedmate to his kind. And now that he has drunk from her
he has unexpectedly sealed their fate. Tess Culver awakens the next morning unaware that she has
met Dante as he wiped her mind clean before he left. And
Tess, like Dante is a loner, who has been running away from
a past she just as soon not remember. Immersing her life in
the care and healing of animals she doesn't like to make
time for a personal life or relationships. She tried once
and realized it wasn't for her. But then maybe what Tess
really needs is a relationship that is not of this world...
and a world that is not willing to let her get away. Ms. Adrian has a writing style that sucks you in [no pun
intended] from page one. The idea she weaves around the
vampire concept is fascinating and seems almost plausible.
And while this is a romance novel, I have to say the book
just steams up with utter sex appeal and tension when she
brings her characters together. Even the story that
surrounded the secondary characters held me equally
intrigued as the primary. And don't worry there is plenty
of action to keep readers on the edge of their seats.
Definitely a great book that is SO worth the read and not
just another vampire novel, but an intimate, action packed
and steamy experience. Oh yeah, I definitely recommend this
book.
