"I love this Series!"
This is the third Guardian's of the Night book in Jenna
Black's vampire paranormal romance series. At the end of the last book "Secrets in the Shadows",
Gabriel saves Jezebel by changing her and making her his
fledging. He plans to use her as a pawn in his devious
plan to end the Guardians and kill his father. It is only
fitting since Eli tried to kill him centuries ago for being
a born vampire. It was a well thought out plan and it
should have worked, but there were a few little snags—His
mother and his sworn enemy arrive in town determined to
finish the job Eli started centuries ago. If this wasn't
bad enough, his fledging has somehow managed to wiggle her
way into his heart. Jezebel was damaged long before she was brutally abused and
left for dead from multiple vampire bites. Jezebel
recognizes a kindred spirit in Gabriel—a wounded soul. She
understands how it feels to be condemned because of
circumstances that are beyond one's control. She sees
Gabriel for who he truly is. Though he may not be a saint,
he also isn't the monster he pretends to be. They share a
tangible bond in more ways than one. Ms. Black never disappoints. Gabriel is powerful,
seemingly evil at times, but there are those simple acts of
kindness that prove he is harboring a dark secret. Jezebel
is his match and the perfect person to help Gabriel face
his demons. The transition is cleverly done until the
shadows that hide Gabriel's true character inside are
revealed.
You don't want to miss any of this series: Watchers in the
Night and Secrets in the Shadows. Though each of these
books can stand alone, I believe you will appreciate
Gabriel's transition and redemption if you at least start
with Secrets in the Shadows. Reviewed by: Karen
