"Is history doomed to repeat itself in this suspenseful tale of reincarnation?"
On the brink of one of the greatest archeological
discoveries of all time, Dr. Alistair Kincaid definitely
isn't about to allow the two women who have just arrived,
uninvited, in the Mexican jungle to interfere with his
latest dig. His ex-wife Leila had nearly destroyed his
reputation by salting their last dig with artifacts and had
totally destroyed his faith in woman when she'd run off with
another man. Nor could he place any trust on the other
arrival, investigative journalist, Charley Underhill. There
was no doubt in his mind that both women had an agenda and
neither would be to his liking. Alistair is right not to trust Charley. The recent onset of
severe panic attacks had all but submarined Charley's
career, but wind of this dig had provided her with a chance
to resurrect her reputation. If Kincaid actually uncovered
the first artifacts proving the existence of the Olmec
civilization, her exposé would also earn enough money to get
her alcoholic mother into life-saving rehab. Little does
Charley know that her attacks are actually flashbacks to a
long ago lifetime, a life that had started a chain of evil
and betrayal that continued to the present day. The current link in the chain of evil forged in Charley's
past life is Felipe, a member of Alistair's dig. Felipe has
seen visions of his imminent death. He now has two goals, to
prevent the desecration of his ancestors by sabotaging the
dig and to summon his successor (Leila) to take his place. Sparks fly between Alistair and Charley from the moment they
meet, but once an uneasy truce is established between the
pair those sparks ignite a passion that the neither is
prepared to deal with. Charley knows that although she's
lost her heart to the sexy Scot, her mother's health must
take priority. She can only cause him more heartache. When Leila realizes that her plan to recapture Alistair's
affection, in the hopes of cashing in on his discovery, is
doomed to failure she turns to Felipe and a new promise of
power. As past and future collide, the two women are destined to
battle over more than the attentions of Dr. Alistair
Kincaid. Will Charley break the chain of betrayal and redeem
her soul in this lifetime, or is she destined to repeat the
pattern once again? The mystical ways of the lost Olmec civilization come to
life through Charley's Karmic memories of her past life as a
high priestess. The reader cannot help but root for her to
triumph over her increasingly evil rival and the solve
dilemma that is forcing her to choose between two people she
loves most. Ironically it is the skeptical and wholly
scientific Alistair whose past holds the key to
Charley's redemption, but will she accept the wisdom he has to
offer? The Jaguar Legacy is a suspenseful tale of passion,
betrayal, and redemption sure to be enjoyed by lovers of
ancient history, romantic fantasy and the paranormal.
