"Erotically Passionate Romance and Edgy Suspense"
Darius Macleod would have died on the battlefield of
Bannockburn if his brother, Demetri hadn't convinced his
friend and lover Remont to make him into a vampire.
Darius returns from the war and to his wife Rose, but she
is afraid and unable to accept what he has become and tries
to flee. She falls down a flight of steps killing herself
and their unborn child. Darius is heartbroken and will
remain so for five centuries. Gabrielle Fairmont's uncle sold her to Lord Sutherland to
pay off his debts. It is rumored that Sutherland has
murdered all his previous wives and it looks like Gabrielle
will share in their demise. Only Gabrielle has an
advantage. She can read minds and what she saw lurking
within the devious brain of Sutherland convinces her she
must escape his clutches before it is too late. Gabrielle runs into the arms of Darius and finds this man
can also read minds. Darius is convinced Gabrielle is his
Rose reincarnated and he will do anything to keep her
safe. Gabrielle feels the connection right away, but
doesn't quite understand why. She knows what Darius is—a
creature of the night. In all sense, she shouldn't trust
him, but her heart tells her otherwise, a battle she must
overcome if they are to find happiness. I enjoyed this paranormal historical with its edgy
suspense. Yes, this is an erotica, too, but with romantic
passion and commitment, the very foundation for a lasting
relationship. Well done! Reviewed by: Karen
