"a great escapist read"
Janis Stone is trying to squeeze into her wedding gown,
when she
is
taken captive by cat-like aliens. The Terilians were
traveling to a
planet, which they hoped to colonize, when a plague
struck. All the
women on board ship died, leaving the men without mates.
In
desperation, the Terilians seek a planet with compatible
females,
because Terilian males can't go long without mating or
they die.
Therefore, the Terilians kidnapped one thousand human
females and
changed their gene structure to make them more
compatible. Secondus
Delos of the Tawny Spotted Pelt is the doctor and go-
between for the
females and males. Janis and Delos are immediately drawn
to each
other.
Unfortunately, Delos is a Secondus and must give way to a
Primus, and
Primus Taddus of the Black-Striped Pelt seeks to make
Janis his mate.
However, Taddus doesn't count on the willfulness and
determination that
some human females exhibit. ONE THOUSAND BRIDES is a great escapist read with a
yummy hero and
a larger-sized heroine. The Terilains chose only larger-
sized women
and
Delos force fed Janis when she came on to the ship.
Janis was
mal-nourished, because she was on a strict diet to fit
into her wedding
dress. Handsome aliens who love large women, I really
like that idea!
ONE THOUSAND BRIDES is a fun futuristic read and a great
way to spend
an
afternoon.

"We require wives. A review of the populated planets in your region revealed that Earth females are the closest genetically to our species. Thus we have decided to take one thousand human females with us." As these words are broadcast over Earth media, Janis Stone blacks out. She awakens on an alien colonization ship, one of a thousand human women destined to become Brides of the Terilian colonists. At first outraged by the kidnapping, Jan soon finds herself intrigued by Delos, the Terilian doctor who serves as liaison to the human Brides. Despite his pointed, furry ears and the pelt down his back, Delos' muscular physique and wonderful scent draw Jan like catnip attracting a feline. The two embark on a sensual journey, exploring their species' sexual compatibility. But their new love is threatened when a higher-ranked male desires Jan. As she plans a mass wedding for the thousand Brides, she dreads the upcoming "Spring Running", the mysterious rite where Terilians will mate with their Brides. Will the wrong groom claim her?
