"great addition to this series"
Silken had been a Courtesan but was given his freedom by
Nanashi, a Nighwalker that changed his life for the
better. So in the process of freeing him, then Silken
could become his Consort. Through the years Silken had
prayed to Lalasa, the Goddess of the Courtesans. He prayed
for her to protect him and guide him to what is meant for
him to be. Today is the day he will worship her on her
holy day. Silken is worshiping her in the most beautiful
way to show her what she means to him; he is spending the
day with Nanashi making love. Now Nanashi doesn't know or
understand why Silken does the things he does, but he
supports him no matter what. Nanashi whats to learn more
of Silken's past in hopes of understanding him better.
Will this help them to understand each other better? What
better way than to show how they care and love each other? Willa Okati has done such a great job with this series. I
read each book and wanted more right away. I love the way
she wrote the relationship between Silken and Nanashi. I
loved Nanashi's character, a vampire that falls for Silken
who was a Courtesan. That Nanashi wanted more for him than
being a Courtesan and wanted to share his life with this
man, take him away from that life into freedom, choices he
wasn't given. Having freedom was hard at first for Silken
of course; he had always lived with others telling him
what to do. This story was well written and showed how
these two men needed to understand each other more, and
the way Nanashi chose, was the best way for them both. I
look forward to the next book, if Willa Okati writes more,
because I can see this story going further.
