"a story of unconventional love"
Austin Green never thought when he had left Home years ago
that he would be coming back. His father, after finding
out he was gay, kicked him out and said that he had no
son, his son was dead. But now years later his sister
Houston is getting married and she has asked him to come
back for the wedding. For her he will put his feelings of
hurt aside. He is going down for the rehearsal dinner and
sees a man that sets his bells off "Big Time". He is a
little older, with black and silver hair, and so fine. As
it comes out this man, Tony Rumalati is his sister's
husband-to-be's father. But that won't stop him or Tony.
What they feel for each other is different and special. At the dinner Austin's father tries to complicate things
but Tony tells him not to worry about it, he has it
covered. That night, the two of them realize how lucky
they are to have met, and that they don't want to give
each other up even with Austin not living there any more.
Will Austin leave the home he has known since leaving
years ago for this man? And will his father try to break
them up with his bigotry against him and the man he loves? I can't say enough about this book. It made me laugh, and
then fall over laughing when Tony puts his father in his
place, though the story dealt with serious issues as well.
I couldn't read it fast enough, and then when I read the
last word, I wanted more. I will be looking for the
backlist from this wonderful author and look forward to
reading more by Carol Lynne.
