"funny with a touch of mystery"
Joell, or as she is known in the League of Amazing Women,
Wonder Witch, gets a panicked call saying they needed
help. She tried to get the person to understand that she
can't help them right now and tries to explain nicely and
as plainly as she can that when it is that time of the
month she has to lock her weapons up. But he makes her
feel guilty and she gives in. She is told that male models
are being taken and they need her help to find out who is
doing it and where these men are being held. Well Joell,
being a reader of books that always seem to have men that
are like these models, she can't help but want to do
something about this. Throw in the detective that could be
one of these models with how "Hot" and built he is, and
then you have the agent that hires her to find out where
the men are and who is behind it; could he be behind his
models being taken? What Joell hopes is that the person
behind it all is not a person with super powers themselves
since she is unable to use her weapons. Will she be able
to depend on the detective helping her since he is able to
use his weapons? Will she find out who is behind the
disappearances before someone else is taken, or worse
someone gets hurt? Ms. Chase's Wonder Witch, from the Torrid Tarot line, was
kind of different for me. At first I wasn't sure about the
premise, but this author pulled through with a storyline
that was funny with a touch of mystery and some mighty
fine looking men. What more can you ask for? I found
myself wishing that the story could be longer with more
interaction between the characters, but this was a short
story format and the author pulled it off beautifully.

Imagine thirteen attractive crime-fighting women with super powers—and PMS! Joell, aka Wonder Witch of the League of Amazing Women, gets a desperate call for the League's help. She tries to explain to their contact that they're unable to work right now since they have to lock up their weapons when it's—ahem—that time. Unfortunately he plays to her weakness. The victims are male models kidnapped from a romance convention! Since all the members of the League write sizzling romance novels in their spare time and can't resist a pretty face on a hunky body, she agrees. But who's the hero in all of this? The models' agent, willing to pay big bucks to get them back? The undercover cop, hired to work with them since he can pass for a model and be trusted with weapons? Or will it be someone else? Someone with superpowers of his own?
