This the eight book in the Vampire Huntress Series Damali Richards, Neturu has married her soul mate, Carlos
Rivera, ex-vampire now Neturu also. They are enjoying
their honeymoon when there is an energy surge from the
dark realm, causing Carlos and the other members of the
team, who have vampire blood running through their veins
to act aggressively toward their soul mates. While Carlos
and Damali visit their councils of Neturus to find out
what is going on, the Guardian team is visited by
creatures who have escaped from Nod, claiming allegiance
to the light. The team finds out that Cain, the son of Eve has chosen
the dark side wanting to take his father's throne and head
the Vampire Council. He wants to destroy Carlos and take
Damali as his own. He enlists Lilith's help and brings
back a slain foe of the Neturus.
Eve is forced to make a difficult choice when it comes to
dealing with her son, while Adam will do anything to
protect Eve and spare her the grief Cain has wrought upon
them all. Even if it means going to hell and back. We find out the truth of what Damali is and what her
destiny holds. There are some losses for the Light,
characters we have learned to love and few new characters
that will sacrifice it all for the side of good. The
Guardian team learns from their past mistakes, each
growing to be a better person for it. They also learn
more about themselves and the gifts they have to offer. I
especially love the heart rendering relationship between
Rider and Tara that goes beyond the grave; the sweet and
tender bond between Dan and Heather and their first
powerful encounter with love; and how Shabazz and Marlene
have history to overcome, but find their way back to each
other. Damali and Carlos' relationship grows stronger as
they learn to forgive, trust, respect and love each other
more deeply. Ms. Banks always installs the value of love
and family, which will pull at your heartstrings. Fans of
this series will definitely enjoy this story as they cry,

Damali and Carlos have finallty tied the knot, but there is no happily ever after. There are bigger problems on the horizon. Eve's son, Cain, has escaped his banishment in order to assume his father's throne and is now the new Chairman of the Vampire Council. He is amassing a new army, which includes resurrecting one of the Neterus' old foes--the deadly Fallon Nuit. But Carlos isn't about to let that happen. The coming battle will be the battle to kick off Amageddon.
